On Wednesday, June 25, the Capital Chapter will offer a presentation titled "Marketing Strategy and Execution: Making It Work at the Practice Group Level," at the Grand Hyatt Washington. The program will explore how four law firm leaders have tapped into the management and marketing rewards that can flow from the practice group organizational model.

Over the last decade, more and more law firms have refocused their management and marketing structures to a system based on practice groups rather than geographic areas or some other division. Not surprisingly, some firms are making greater headway than others in making the practice group structure succeed.

The Chapter has invited the chairs and the chief marketers of two such firms—Dickstein Shapiro and Miller & Chevalier—to share with us how they have done this and what the benefits have been.

Zeughauser Group partner Norm Rubenstein will moderate the luncheon program and will ask our panelists how they have changed their firms’ marketing and management orientations. They will focus on Dickstein Shapiro’s Insurance Coverage and Intellectual Property Groups and Miller & Chevalier’s Benefits and Tax Groups.

Panelists:

  • Marianna Dyson, Chair of Miller & Chevalier

  • Mike Nannes, Chair of Dickstein Shapiro

  • Maura Brandt, Miller & Chevalier's Chief Marketing Officer

  • Kristan Morrell, Dickstein's Chief Strategic Officer

The program, which includes lunch, is $55 for LMA members and $70 for non-members ($90 registration fee for late registrants and walk-ins.) Program registration will open at 12 pm, with the luncheon beginning at 12:30 pm and lasting until 2 pm.
