L.A. Story - What's Real?
Arriving in Los Angeles just after noon on Wednesday, the scene I encountered was out of a movie...Was the haze in the sky smog or genuinely weather-related? Was the traffic jam on the Santa Monica Freeway what locals experience everyday? What about that road-side construction zone fire? Stunt pyrotechnics or a dangerous conflagration?
None of these questions were answered when the hotel's doors swooshed open and my own private Elevate 08 kicked off.
The very well attended QuickStart and pre-conference sessions left both first-timers and conference veterans anxious to network at two evening receptions. Keynote speaker Cherie Blair was kind enough to mingle through the day's last event, a reception hosted by and for exhibitors and sponsors.
As the day comes to a close, I am pleasantly surprised by the hotel accommodations, the weather and the number of professional services marketers here for a couple days of networking and professional development.
