Law firm mergers rise sharply

U.S. law firm mergers rose sharply during the last quarter, according to Altman Weil MergerLine, which tracks acquisitions and mergers of law firms.

Over the last three months, the legal management consulting firm reports, there were 26 law firm mergers, compared with 18 during the first quarter of 2008.
