Small Firm Shared Interest Group Meeting

May 20, 2008

Join us on Tuesday, May 20th, for our first meeting of the Small Firm Shared Interest Group.

Public Relations (PR) is a vital piece of the law firm marketing equation, but many small law firms either do not fully comprehend how the PR process can work for them or they do not have a properly developed PR strategy.  This program will examine:

  • Why every practice, even small firms, should concentrate on PR
  • The basics of the PR process
  • Recommended tactics including commentary, bylines/Op-Eds, speaking engagements, writing articles
  • Developing a strategy and setting priorities
  • Focusing on successful areas first and establishing expectations
  • Hiring a communications firm v. handling it in-house

Many lawyers in small firms face challenges when marketing their practice, including a lack of dedicated marketing professionals and just not enough hours in the day!   The NYLMA Small Firm Shared Interest Group (SIG) has been formed to assist small firms (defined by less than 100 lawyers or fewer than five marketing professionals) by providing important and timely information on an array of legal marketing issues so that you can maximize the time and resources you have and increase your business development efforts.

Join us for this interactive program to network and learn!  A light breakfast and coffee will be served.

Speaker:  Brian Hickey, Managing Director, Cubitt Jacobs & Prosek Communications (and LMA member)
