LMA Toronto Chapter Doubles Membership in First 10 Months

Ambitious Fall Roster of Events Aims to Attract Capacity Crowd

By Margaret McCaffery

Since its formation in December 2007, the Toronto Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) has more than doubled its membership, from 38 at its incorporation to 94 in August. Attendance at LMA Toronto Chapter events has similarly increased, with the last networking event attracting over 60 attendees.

“We’re delighted with the response,” says Chapter President Nanette Matys. “We knew there was a need for high quality programming and networking opportunities in the Toronto area and the turnout has proved us right. Now we want to raise the bar even higher and expand our contacts with neighbouring chapters so that we can offer a wider community for our members.”

The Chapter’s fall lunch program kicks off with Strategic Marketing Planning for Practice Groups on September 24, followed by a General Counsel Panel on October 23. The program will wrap up 2008 with Technology: What’s Next and What Does It Mean for You? on November 27. A social event is also planned for early December.
